Crazy Colour Pinkissimo Thoughts/Pictures

I recently started going back to blonde all over after growing out my previously blonde hair and kind of rocking a dodgy ombre look. Like anyone who reaches for a crazy colour to dye their hair, I was bored and wanted a temporary change. I found this on amazon and thought, why not! I used as per the instructions and left it on for about 35 minutes then washed my hair as normal.
When it dried, I was shocked at how intense it was, I wanted a cool fun colour but being honest, don't know if I was quite ready for the bright hot pink! After the second wash, it faded A LOT and turned into a lovely faded baby pink colour (pictured above) which is what I wanted. I've since washed my hair a further 2-3 times and the colour has not faded much at all.

I think this product is great if you want to try a fun colour and spice things up. They have a huge range of different colours and are super cheap. It's semi-permanent so you don't have to worry about being stuck with it.

I did find that when I washed my hair after first applying it my ends felt a little dry so I used a little extra conditioner and slept with some hair oil in, but by morning, all was back to normal!

Have you tried any of these, if so, what did you think?

NYX Blush in Peach
Rimmel Brown Pencil in Hazel

Maybelline Gel Liner in Black
Rimmel Kohl Liner in Brown
Maybelline Rocket Waterproof Mascara
Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 101

I think this look is great if you have a casual date to the cinema or just hanging out. It's not too much, looks fresh and that you made an effort without being overboard. I love wearing this when I want to feel super girly!

1) To achieve this look I started with a medium coverage glowing base. I applied my L'Oreal True Match Foundation with a Real Techniques Buffing Brush and built up to a medium coverage. I added a light layer of matte bronzer to contour and bronze where the sun would naturally hit. Finishing the skin with a generous amount of highlighter to the nose, cheeks, cupid bow, chin & forehead (I did say generous ;))

2) Moving onto eyes, I took Chopper all over the eye, a mix of Tease & Busted in the crease and under the eye, all using a MAC 217 Blending Brush. Finishing with Foxy to highlight the brow bone & inner corner. Of course filling in my brows in between.

3) I used my gel liner with the Real Techniques Silicone Liner Brush to line the upper lash line and create a small wing. I lined my waterline with the brown kohl, curled my lashes and applied lots of mascara.

4) Finishing the look my applying the Rimmel lipstick and a little gloss in the middle of my lips. I actually applied a small amount of my bronzer on a small clean liner brush and gently put under my bottom lip to make my lips look bigger.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. Have you tried the Naked 2 Palette? If so, what do you think?

MAC Cranberry Smokey Eye Make-Up Look

Products Used:

Essence All About Matt Primer/Base
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 200 Soft Beige
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 2
Maybelline Matte Maker Powder
NARS Laguna Bronzer
Rimmel Brown Pencil in Hazel
Miss Sporty Clear Mascara
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
MAC Cranberry Eye Shadow
MAC All That Glitters Eye Shadow
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Blackout
Maybelline Falsies Flared Mascara
Red Cherry Whispies (WSP)
Avon Supershock Kohl Liner in Black
Benefit Rockateur Blush
MAC Angel Lipstick

1. Starting with your base, build up a good coverage base using your favourite foundation. Conceal and powder once the eyes are done, this will make it easy to clean up any fall out.
2. Apply an eye primer, I used the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk as this gives a pure white base which will make the shadow stand out even more. Gently pack the colour on with a flat brush or your finger (whatever you find easiest!) all over the lid but avoiding the inner corner and crease. Allowing this red toned shadow onto the inner corner can make you look sick or tired!
3. Taking a clean blending brush and a touch of a neutral shade (I used my bronzer but you can use any matt neutral shade) blend out the edges.
4. Take a matt black or very dark shade of a similar tone would work too, and buff this into the outer corner working your way gently into the crease.

5. Apply your favourite black gel or liquid liner on the top lash line and wing out.
6. This step, I feel, ties everything together. Take your concealer and draw under the eye taking it out just under the wing you created (being careful not to spoil the work you've just done) and blend out with a brush or your finger. This makes a nice crisp line under the eyes and separates the red toned shadow from underneath your eyes.
7. Apply a black kohl in the water and tight line and use a pencil brush to blend some of that black shadow underneath the eye.
8. Finish by added mascara and lashes if you like, apply a natural looking blush and a nude/pink lipstick.

Tip: I find that putting a pinky toned lip colour when using these types of shadows goes best. I tried a peachy tone but it did not go at all. I also find that a matte finish of the skin and not over bronzing helps keep the focus on the eyes!

I hope you enjoyed this post, please comment and let me know how you would wear this shadow, I'm always looking for new ways to rock it!

Bronze Eyes, Dewy Skin

Products Used

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 200 Soft Beige
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Shade 3
Essence All About Matt Powder
Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder
theBalm Mary Lou Manizer Luminizer
Rimmel Brow Pencil in Hazel
MAC Eyeshadow in All That Glitters
MAC Eyeshadow in Antiqued
Rimmel Eyeliner in Bronze
Maybelline Falsies Flared Mascara
Collection Cream Puff in Cotton Candy
Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Afternoon Tea

To achieve this look I wanted to start with quite a lightweight natural base so I applied my moisturiser and went onto foundation straight after, applying a light layer with my buffing brush.
I concealed under my eyes and blemishes and went onto my eyes.
This eye look is actually one of my favourites that I wear a lot for a day time look on my days off!
I took All That Glitters all over the lid and took Antiqued on the outer half of my eye blending it under my eye as well. Moving onto eyeliner, I put this along my lash line and in my water line and smudged out with a pencil brush. Curled the lashes and lots of mascara later and I look human again!
To finish I applied the Matt Cream Puff and allowed it to settle meanwhile applying lots of highlighter! (I'm currently loving this highlighter, it's so a beautiful natural glow) To finish I applied lots of the Tanya Burr lip gloss (in the process trying not to eat it as it smells sooo good!).

What do you think? I love having dewy skin and glossy lips, it makes me feel super summery! (Even though ours in the UK is currently disappearing..)

Essence in the UK!?

Yep you read right! Essence is now available in the UK!

You can purchase from www.wilko.com or buy in store. At the moment it isn't available in the UK drugstores.

I've read so many good reviews online and have wanted to try various Essence products for ages but it was only available in the US & Australia. I wanted to do some research online to confirm this but couldn't find a thing (where's Wiki when you need it...). So don't hold me to that!

Back on subject, what I do know is that it wasn't easily accessible in the UK until I was reading a magazine and saw it advertised!

I went straight into Wilkinson's on my next shopping trip and picked up a few things. I'm going to review some of the products once I've given them a fair go. I can tell you already that I LOVE the nail polishes. I am a die hard fan of the Barry M Nail Paints (a hoarder of over 80 to be precise) and I'm close to saying I love these more! Anyway, that's another post!

This was just a quick post to let you know that Essence is now in the UK and for a beauty lover, this is exciting!

Have you seen any Essence stands yet? If so what do you think?

That Bright Pink Lip

Essence All About Matt Oil Control Primer
L'oreal True Match Foundation in W1
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 3
Essence All About Matt Fixing Powder
Benefit Hoola Bronzer (to contour)
NARS Laguna (to bronze)
TheBalm Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter
Rimmel Brow Pencil in Hazel
MAC Woodwinked Eyeshadow
Rimmel Brown Kohl Liner
Maybelline Rocket Mascara (waterproof)
Rimmel Lipstick in Shocking Pink
Natural Collection Lip Liner in Ruby Rose

To achieve this eye look I took woodwinked all over the lid with a MAC 217 blending brush and blended a little bit of my bronzer into my crease for definition. I then used my brown kohl and smudged this into the outer corner on the top and bottom lash line and put a little into the waterline.

I made this a very glowy look as the eyes were simple and lips were very matte.

I think it turned out well, would be great for a girly shopping trip or a few drinks.

Let me know what you think!
